Job title: Client Director

Salary: Competitive + annual bonus

Location: Milan, Italy

Duration: Permanent

Working model: (3 days on-site/ 2 days remotely). Remote options for candidates outside Lombardy.

Required Languages: Italian (fluent), English (fluent), additional language is a plus

Join us as a Client Director in Milan and lead the charge in transforming the food retail sector in Italy. In this role, you'll manage a high-impact client portfolio, craft and execute innovative campaigns, and work closely with top teams in Marketing and operations. You'll drive substantial sales growth and ROI while building and nurturing key client relationships. Role and Responsibilities

  • Sales Opportunity Identification: Identify and leverage sales opportunities among existing and potential new clients in the food retail sector.
  • Client Analysis: Analyse client needs, market conditions, and competitive landscape specific to food retail.
  • Campaign Development: Design and propose tailored campaigns based on detailed insights into client needs and market trends.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with supply chain, brands, and entertainment teams to ensure alignment with campaign proposals before finalizing client agreements.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the proper signing of Letters of Commitment (LOC) and contractual agreements in line with company policies.
  • Campaign Performance: Maximize campaign effectiveness through accurate projections, impactful communication plans, and effective collaboration with Project Management and Logistics teams for optimal execution and performance tracking.
  • P&L Responsibility: Manage the P&L for campaigns, demonstrating clear sales growth and positive ROI.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and nurture strong commercial relationships with clients and internal teams, emphasizing trust and results.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share valuable insights and experiences with peers to enhance team learning and performance.

  • External: Clients (Board members/Marketing/Sales/Purchasing), Agencies (Marketing/Advertising/Licensing)
  • Internal: Commercial Director, Local Marketing & Entertainment Team, Local Project Management and Logistics Teams, Local Finance/Legal, Supply Chain, Group Sales Department, Entertainment Team, Omnichannel Team, New Product Development, Group Brands & Licenses

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 5-13 years of experience in sales, client management, account management or marketing/advertising, specifically within the food retail sector.
  • Industry Knowledge: Proven expertise in the food retail market and experience in selling services within this sector.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, effective negotiation and persuasion abilities, competitive mindset, and business development expertise.
  • Client Orientation: Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Languages: Fluent in Italian and English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
